The Tortoise and the Hare

Once upon a time, in a forest, there was a hare who was always boasting about how fast he could run. He would often make fun of the slow-moving tortoise, teasing him for his sluggish pace.

One day, the tortoise had had enough of the hare's taunts. He calmly said, "You may be fast, but I believe I can beat you in a race."

The hare burst out laughing. "You? Beat me? That's impossible! But if you're serious, let's race!"

The animals of the forest gathered to watch the race. The course was set, and both the hare and the tortoise stood at the starting line. The race began, and, as expected, the hare dashed off, leaving the tortoise far behind.

Confident in his speed, the hare decided to take a nap under a tree. "I'll rest for a bit; there's no way the tortoise will catch up," he thought.

Meanwhile, the tortoise kept going, slowly but steadily. He never stopped or got distracted. Step by step, he moved forward, getting closer to the finish line.

When the hare finally woke up from his nap, he was shocked to see the tortoise near the finish line. Panicking, he sprinted as fast as he could, but it was too late. The tortoise crossed the finish line first.

The animals cheered for the tortoise, and the hare hung his head in shame. The tortoise, calm as ever, said, "Slow and steady wins the race."

And from that day on, the hare learned to never underestimate others, no matter how slow they may seem.
