The Lion and the Mouse

One warm day in the African savannah, a mighty lion was resting under the shade of a large tree. As he drifted off to sleep, a tiny mouse scurried through the grass nearby. By accident, the little mouse ran across the lion’s paw, waking him up. With a loud roar, the lion trapped the mouse under his massive paw.

Lion: "How dare you disturb my sleep, little one! I could crush you with one swipe!"

Terrified, the mouse squeaked and pleaded for mercy.

Mouse: "Please, mighty lion, spare my life! If you let me go, I promise to help you someday."

The lion chuckled at the thought of such a tiny creature helping him, but he was amused by the mouse’s courage. Deciding to be merciful, he lifted his paw and let the mouse go.

Lion: "Very well, little one. Run along. But remember, you owe me!"

The mouse quickly scurried away, grateful to be alive.

A few days later, as the lion was patrolling his territory, he unknowingly walked into a hunter’s trap. Thick ropes tangled around his legs, and no matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t break free. The lion roared in frustration, calling out for help, but no one was nearby to hear his cries.

Just then, the little mouse, who had heard the lion’s roar, hurried to the scene. Seeing the lion trapped, he quickly approached.

Mouse: "Don’t worry, mighty lion. I’ll help you!"

Without wasting any time, the tiny mouse began gnawing at the thick ropes with his sharp teeth. Though small, the mouse worked quickly and diligently, chewing through rope after rope. Slowly, the ropes began to break, and before long, the lion was free.

The lion was amazed.

Lion: "You saved me, little friend! I never thought someone as small as you could help me. Thank you!"

Mouse: "I promised I’d help you someday, and I kept my word."

The lion smiled, realizing that even the smallest creature could make a big difference. From that day on, the lion and the mouse became good friends, understanding that kindness and courage have no size.
